Build upon the Human Rights Act, don’t repeal it!

The Human Rights Check UK Report, produced by over 175 organisations from across Great Britain, has called for an end to denigration of the Human Rights Act.  Produced as a joint civil society report to the Universal Periodic Review, this report says that the UK Government needs to protect human rights domestically. There is often a negative and misleading portrayal of human rights law which needs to end.

Also covering areas such as children’s rights, prisons, poverty and immigration, the report makes for an interesting overview of ways that the UK could do better on implementing human rights.  You can read the full report here.https://www.bihr.org.uk/news/hrcheckreportnews
