Anas Sarwar, Labour’s Health spokesperson, questioned the First Minster about what was being done to enable Janice Arundel, who is blind and has learning disabilities, to leave hospital and return home. Although she has been well for some time, there is no care package in place that would allow her to leave hospital. Her brother said “I feel no consideration has been given to my sister as an individual with unique needs, rather she has been let down by a system that lacks compassion, basic human decency and quite frankly common sense when people are most in need of support. The true measure of a society is how it takes care of its most vulnerable citizens”.
