New abortion rules declared lawful
Last year, Scotland became the first part of the UK that allows women to take the abortion pill Misoprostol at home.
The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children challenged this decision in court, arguing that such a move contravenes the 1967 Abortion Act. However, judge Lady Wise ruled that the Scottish Government’s move was ‘not unlawful’.
