Children as Human Rights Defenders
Children and young people from across Scotland travelled to Geneva for the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child’s Day of General Discussion (DGD) on children as human rights defenders, which took place on Friday 28th September 2018.
The children and young people from Scotland shared their experiences with those from other countries, and will bring back learning to support children and young people who are human rights defenders in Scotland. Together, the Children’s Parliament, Scottish Youth Parliament and Who Cares? Scotland have worked together to coordinate their participation.
Maree Todd MSP, Minister for Children and Young People, and Bruce Adamson, Children and Young People’s Commissioner also joined the children at the DGD.
