Citizens Rights Project Hosts Human Rights Sessions in 4 Languages

The Citizens Rights Project, in conjunction with All Our Rights in Law, will be hosting human rights conversations in 4 different languages throughout January. Migrants who speak Polish, Spanish, Italian or Romanian are invited to join these sessions to discuss Scotland’s new human rights law, and how it could protect and advance their rights.

All Our Rights in Law is a public participation initiative organised by the Human Rights Consortium Scotland and Scottish Human Rights Commission. Our aim is to work with civil society organisations and rights-holders from all walks of life to discuss what Scotland’s new human rights law could mean for them. Feedback will be given to the National Taskforce for Human Rights Leadership, which will use it to advise the government on how to create and implement the new framework for human rights.

One of the priorities of the project is to work with rights-holders who are marginalised, including those for whom English is a second or other language. The Citizens Rights Project works to provide information, support and advice for EU/EEA/Swiss nationals and their families. Details of the sessions including dates, times and languages are as follows:

  • 11/01/2021 at 6pm – Polish
  • 13/01/2021 at 6pm – Italian
  • 14/01/2021 at 6pm – Spanish
  • 15/01/2021 at 6pm – Romanian
