Children’s Rights – CRC
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) protects the rights of babies, children and young people. It protects their rights to education, play, care, to participate, and more.
Governments which have signed up to the treaty must take deliberate steps to care for children and protect their rights. The treaty came into force internationally in 1990 and was incorporated into Scots law in 2024.
