Brexit Repeal Bill faces big change
Over 400 amendments have been lodged on the EU Withdrawal Bill.
The Bill is about to begin a Committee stage before all MPs on 14th November. A large number of amendments have been lodged, covering a wide range of concerns. For example, there are amendments to limit the Government’s powers to make changes to law without Parliament scrutiny, known as Henry VIII powers. There are also amendments to keep the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and to include non-regression on rights within the Bill. Other amendments cover the powers given directly to devolved governments or repatriated to Westminster.
