The Illegal Migration Act: A Human Rights Emergency, Tuesday 24th October @2pm

In July this year, the UK Government voted to pass the Illegal Migration Act into law. This Act makes it almost impossible for people to seek safety from war or persecution in the UK, and severely impacts the UK’s compliance with international human rights treaties.

Join the Human Rights Consortium Scotland and JustRight Scotland to find out more about the impact of the Illegal Migration Act in UK and across Scotland. We will examine the effect it has had so far on asylum seekers’ and refugees’ human rights, and what organisations such as JustRight Scotland are doing to combat its worst effects.
