About Human Rights

Human rights are about the way we relate to each other.  They are about respect, dignity and equal value.

Human rights mean that we should be able to take certain protections and necessities for granted, and when we are not given these things, we can make sure the government or public authorities do something about it.

We want to make sure that individuals can always challenge human rights infringements in UK courts but the UK Government have said that they might take that right away – find out more here about the Human Rights Act.
